Thanks for the plug anon. If you liked that book check out pic related. Its a reprint, not a translation, but a great primary source novella about Ungern-Sternberg.

Basically its a series of wartime correspondences by Harukichi Shimoi, a japanese kang who fought in WWI on the side of the Italian army. Shimoi has a good eye for poetic moments, but I'd say that the book is mostly interesting because the author is interesting. He was buddies with D'Annunzio (Shimoi actually cameos in one of D'Annunzio's books, I believe Il trionfo della morte but don't quote me on that), worked as a spy for Mussolini, and was involved in the early promotion of Calpis the milk-soft-drink.

Nta but I still occasionally lurk. You can read part of the book here if you're interested:

Also, you might enjoy my newer ongoing translation of Pierre Drieu la Rochelle's Gilles:

Yeah that's true. I'm working on a second edition at the moment which will also contain Arturo Ferrarin's Rome-Tokyo Flight, but it could take a while because I'm juggling three or four translations at the moment and it's a low priority. Would recommend waiting a few months till I can get around to it. F.T. Marinetti's Mafarka should be out by February however.
