The single best black author, imo, is Joaquim Machado do Assis, and he never covered those subjects. His writing as as universal as other great writers.

While there is some differences between races, to think such a minor factor would determine why some races were collectively more succesful than others is not a biological response in any way, but a sign of being uneducated and having a very superficial way of thinking. One who has read or informed himself enough would know that those discrepancies on race success would have been caused by other factors, such as geography or mere chance, then socio-economical reasons (like slavery). Subsequently, these educated persons would avoid ignoring history and see that in their land most black people are poor, and conclude that they are inferior and hate them.
However, there could still be some seemingly smart people that would tend to show this kind of hate. For example, OP's pic seem to have been a very bitter man, and a bitter man like him would direct his bitterness towards whatever he sees fit, in this case, his very grotesque literary works, and fashion hate of the day, which is, racism against blacks.
