Also, there is no need to read both Kings and Chronicles if you want to cut corners. Both tell the same histories of David and Solomon, but with slight variation and different focus. Chronicles takes a more "reverential" stance, and the Sins of David are never mentioned, Kings is a more hard truth type of writing, but doesn't have God as heavy an influence as in Chronicles

Hey /lit/

So I'm making a reading list for me and a friend of mine. The (relatively loose) theme is going to be "around the world". Classics, old books, contemporary ones, nonfiction, biographies, plays, all of it are fair game, really. Both of us are going to be bringing nominations to the table and then making a fairly concise list of about fifteen books to begin reading at the start of next year.

I want to include books that would maybe contribute to being a little more well read. Good/important European literature is really not all that tough to find (suggestions definitely still welcome though), but looking for works from Asia, Africa, and South America that fit the bill is tougher.

So yeah, tl;dr I need some /lit/-approved suggestions for literary works from all different corners of the world. I would appreciate the inclusion of some female authors too.

Thanks in advance guys

Anyone publish their stories online? l've reached the point where I'm confident enough to have others read my work.

Platform recommendations? I was thinking either a blog or a website.

>You don't think it's possible for someone to have a negative experience while tripping that sets off a bad trip?
That's definitely a possibility, though in an altered state, almost anything could potentially constitute a "negative experience", depending on the situation and what you bring into it.

Friend no.2 that I mention in >>6687584 had his fright-trip when he saw me rolling around on the floor, talking in tongues. He became increasingly convinced that he was actually in a coma, in a hospital, about to die, and that the past few months where me and him had been hanging out had been one big dream, that I wasn't real, but rather a psychotic projection of his subconscious.

When he queried some of our other tripping partners about it, and they reassured him that "no, this reality is the real one and there's nothing to worry about", their faces turned demonic to him, and he was sure they were evil spirits inside of his dream, tempting him to forsake the true reality in favor of this false one, which would lead to him slipping from his coma into death.

>Seeing shadow people chasing them
This won't happen on psychedelics. Staying awake on a couple ambien though...
>thinking the police are going to bust them
Never had this happen personally, but I suppose that if you worry about it too much you might have a bad experience involving that worry.
On a related note, on one trip I found myself in the middle of a street, cornered by cops, completely unaware of how I had gotten there, freaking out that I had tripped so hard I had apparently run out into the city, all naked and bleeding from my eyes and nose, acting so strangely people had called the police. But time stood still, and I eventually realized it was all in my head. There was no street, no cops, no blood. Only me, alone, in a dark room.
>getting trapped in a time loop
This sort of happened in the third example I gave in my previous post. Every few seconds I was returned to a state of near-total amnesia, struck by the realization that the room me and my friends were in was the entirety of the universe, that the lot of us were one bizarre organism caught in eternal confusion, while the fleeting memories of my previous life echoed falsely in the back of my head, mere figments of my imagination, I knew.

>Son, shrooms are not soft
Very true. People underestimate them because they think they're somehow "natural", but nature is Satan's church, and shrooms can fuck you the fuck up.
