I read this book because my girlfriend was reading it and it just reads like a 17 year-olds diary

Has anyone else read it? Any thoughts on the almost complete lack of punctuation? Why is it so broadly loved?

The only thing I can think of is that it's sincere and sentimental, whereas a lot of pop-culture is still ironic

Anyone read Sally Rooneys work? How is it? I'm curious about it because of the attention it recieves, but i'm worried it's the usual mediocre dross that the prestigious, literary publications cum all over themselves for.
