I do agree alot of stem dudes generally don't have interest in humanities (except for current politics, but that's more because you can't really escape it nowadays)
I personally enjoy literature and learning about history, philosophy and even arts (particularly architecture, since it's also close to stem fields)
But it's not something I enjoy more as a hobby, not something I would like to do for a living you know?
And it's not solely because of prospects but simply because I ultimately just find robots cool and estimulating, so why wouldn't I choose to get paid for building them?

But likewise, I find people from the humanities have no appreciation for the rigor that goes into STEM fields

And then go on to say somwthing that just leaves you scratching your head
I mean, I was once hanging out with a metalhead friend (architect) and some friends of his (mostly european language/literature courses, plus a visual arts chick), the talk veered towards space shit and a english major dude showed a complete ignorance of Newton's Laws of Motion yet kept talking with the confidance of someone that actually knew their subject
And that just left me dumbfounded, that's like not knowing about Romeo and Juliet yet still giving a critique on Shakespearean tragedies
