Which book is better, V. or Vineland?

Same with Pynchon books. I begrudgingly bought this version of V, only to find out that the print is blurry smeared shit. I can't read 500 pages of that. I need crisp sharp text or I get headaches.

Problem is, I don't want to go through the trouble of ordering a different version (if I can find one) only to find it to have the same problem.

Anyone know a version of V. with clear, crisp print?

Tell me, /lit/, why you like this book.

Bonus points for buzz words.

What does /lit/ think of Pinecone's first novel? I keep hearing different opinions on what people think is his best work - a lot say Gravity's Rainbow and a lot say Mason & Dixon, but what about V?

So I'm reading 'V' by Thomas Pynchon, only about 50 pages in. Enjoying it so far. One thing occurs to me is that Pynchon is one of the most tangential writers I've ever come across. Is this the problem people have with his writing style? That he goes off on these tangents that are divergent from the plot for sometimes more than a page, that it makes it difficult for them to follow?

I haven't had much trouble so far, but then again I am lead to believe that V in and of itself isn't the most difficult of his works to get through so I am of little room to comment.
