Who was the best writer of the second half of the twentieth century, and why is it pic related?

All of his books are total kino, he speaks to themes of cybernetics, religion, death of art, capitalism, and has a working understanding of western intellectual history that he can make prosaic. His shit is all fun to read, and prose own. Can he be beat?

have you ever considered how stupid the phrase "retroactively refuted" really is?

A few months ago I started a group composed of the most talented writers on /lit/, and we are now seeking to expand. I want to curate this group such that its members, who are already great, become even greater owing to the quality intellectual and aesthetic discourse, not to mention honest and reliable critique, afforded by a closed community of the best and brightest.

Why should you join this group? What qualifies me to lead it? If you're accepted you'll surely find out more about me, but in brief: I am a published writer of some repute among circles interested in formally experimental, avant-garde literature, and, though not famous, have many connections in the publishing industry and in academia. I also offer you my services as a critic, editor, and confidant, as I call upon everyone else in the group to do the same.

If you are interested in being a part of this community, please reply with a writing sample, with a way to contact you outside of this board. If you are uncomfortable leaving your real contact details you could make a throwaway email or IM account, and if you are accepted someone will get in touch with you.

Whats even sadder is that JR was literally written for Altman.
>What do you think of Robert Altman? The way he makes movies is fairly similar to the way you do your novels.

>Gaddis: You’re right. Nashville fascinated me. At the time I was working on J.R and had this idea that maybe Robert Altman would come across my book and make a movie of it; he could do it.
