None of you can write for shit. Not that I'm surprised. People's musical efforts on /mu/ are just as embarrassing. At the best, some of what OP (and those not trolling) wrote could function as lyrics for some really atrocious emo-core band.

Protip:

1. Read large amounts of high quality poetry and prose.
2. Learn how poetry works. Understand forms and meters, even if you aren't going to use them.
3. Avoid cliche'd rhymes (unless it is absolutely essential to what you are trying to convey)
4. Always think about what you are trying to get across.
5. Make sure you aren't just rehashing other people's ideas.
6. Don't get in a wank over obscure words or phrases.
7. Write often, write lots.
8. Continually revise and rework.
9. Show your work to someone you can trust: find out if its good or not.
10. THEN post it on /lit/

It might save some embarrassment and butthurt.
