Hi /lit/, help me find a story.

I think it's by Kafka, though I'm not sure. It is a short story that is maybe a paragraph long. It is about a man who asks an authority figure at a train station what the time is, and the officer makes some pithy statement about the inadequacies of a dimension like time and knowledge, then walks away laughing.
