what you're forgetting to take into account is the state of the modern western society and the harrowing effect unregulated capitalism has had on the world, and so on the younger generations. Capitalism is very much a "new" thing, and the extremes it has gone to in modernity is very much a crisis that needs to be addressed.

You're not wrong in principle- ie, Socrates and his "The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise." quote.

So, it's not "the modern world" is bad, it's "this point in time is particularly bad, and it just so happens to be modern."

There is a lot of good things, but there are also a lot of bad things that can't be ignored, and cannot be attributed to "more voices = more complaints"
