I actually like the Dalai Lama's books. Reincarnation doesn't make sense to me, but he comes off as an intelligent, compassionate, pragmatic guy. I genuinely like trying to take his perspective on things, and there are a few good thoughts and practices to help you understand and calm your rage along the way. I think I started with On Happiness. Don't know if it will appeal to you. Good luck

So the answer is he doesn't have a point or suggested answer. He says both "the answer is love" and "these people are fundamentally unlovable." It was an enjoyable read, if meandering and mostly about himself, but finishing it really makes it no clearer to me what he thinks a solution would even look like. He even affirms again and again that he thinks this is a rational, almost necessary result. So what's the point?
