A book that sometimes gets shilled is "Nourishing Traditions". It's ostensibly a trad-cookbook, but it's not actually ancient culinary wisdom, just two hippies in the 70s reacting against the dietary fads of their time. I personally don't recommend it, it's not very good at what it does. The authors have some good points, but they're shitty writers. At one point, when discussing animal fats (at the time the book was written eating even a single drop of chicken fat would give you a heart attack on the spot) they say something to the tune of
>Liberal application of animal fat is the only thing more important to human procreation than sex
This is less funny in context because you know that they're absolutely serious, but out of context it's very good as an aesthetic argument. Fundamentally it's what you're doing when you say something dumb and then post Gigachad: MY VIEW is PRETTY, YOUR VIEW is UGLY. This is a very real argument, it's just an aesthetic one.

BAPbook is sort of good as an aesthetic argument, but only in as much as it is arguing against people like Mitt Romney and John McCain (RIP McCain's-tumor). He advocates BAND OF BROTHERS, GROUP OF MEN, RETREAT TO CARIBBEAN HIDEOUT IN HYPERBOREA, SAIL OUT ON CANOE, RAID STOCK EXCHANGE, RETURN WITH PUCCI AND GOLD, SEEK GLORY. The problem is that BAP himself is a Neocon shill advocating an Old World united under Jewish Finance, he's just arguing that you, the autist on 4chan, can then get in your kayak and engage in petty-piracy against your fellow wagecucks, and that this will be fun. A purely aesthetic argument of RETURN TO VITALISM OF HERACLITUS, NEECHEE, AND ANCIENT GREECE is a really cool idea, but this book is really lacking if that's what you're after. It cannot be extricated from THE PERVERT the personality, and from what he's done and said since the book's release (he and a Jewish tradcath are currently arguing that Israel actually is America's greatest ally, unironically). If BAP had retired BAP and taken up some other mask, I'd probably be shilling it as a 7/10, but as it stands it's not really worth reading. There's some novel takes, but they're just that: novel takes. You could condense the interesting stuff down to a few-paragraph blogpost. I don't mind the Slavic KAVEMAN SPEEK, it doesn't really hamper the book because as it goes on he lessens it's intensity except when a joke calls for it.

tl;dr Go crack open the Iliad or Beowulf, you'll get what you'd want from this book and more.

I've grown so disenchanted with school. I'm an undergraduate at a community college who feels like I'm wasting my time with my declared majors. I enjoy literature, art, music, and critical thinking, yet I can't devote myself solely to the passion of one and have even further inquiries into the realms of hard science and mathematics.

I'm twenty-two. I work in a fine dining restaurant making on average $25 an hour. I can afford to live off working four to five days a week.

Would it be worth it to go back when I feel ready to finish and then just hop into a Master's program immediately following? The world couldn't possibly just erode into utter shit within the next few years, right? I mean, I have a minute to think about things, yeah?

I don't know where you are getting that the book ends before they even leave.

The Odyssey is kind of like that though, Odysseus goes overboard when he gets back home and kills the suitors like he is still at war.

Ajax the lesser and the rape of Cassandra at the temple of Athena. She was one of the few who suspected the Trojan horse was a trap and after the Greeks got in she took refuge in Athena's temple clinging to the statue. One of the main reasons why the gods destroyed the Greek fleet on their way back home

Greek men were so brutish! I wouldn't doubt that she was abducted to some degree. The gods usually see past all mens trickery though so you can usually check to see if he was punished for it or not.
