I do, but my favourite local libraries all have volunteer-run bookstores and sell books for $1-$2 each. It's hard to resist just buying instead of borrowing, so I usually go that route. Also, I get free books from work all the time. But I have already placed 89 separate orders for books from amazon so far in 2019...so I can't say I don't spend too much on books.

At this point I've read about 70%. It used to be much higher, but I have library and thrift bookstores close to me now, so I can get interesting books for a dollar each almost any day (and my job gets me many free books). I accumulate about 10-20 books a week, on average.

This. The Annotated Lolita is a good buy, OP, and would give you more than just translation aid.

I usually prefer trade paperbacks. Hardcovers only when necessary, or for huge page counts (they take up too much shelf space and cost more), and I try to avoid mass-market as well (horribly cheap, harder to read). But in the end I'll buy it however I can if I really want it.

More from the library bookstores, $1 each.

So, the argument of morons like you who ask this stupid question is that knowing the title of a book you haven't read is somehow more useful information to help you decide to pick it up, buy it, or read it, than knowing who wrote it?

My local library bookstores are good to me. The stack with the Vonnegut on top is from this week, all $1 each.
