What the fuck was wrong with Brits? Shouldn't it have been obvious that no useable northwest passage existed? Even if they could somehow get through over the course of a few years, only moving when the sea ice thawed in the summer, that would be untenable for transport or travel. So why bother?

What's an unexpected fact that you've learned from a story?

In "The Terror," one of the groups of survivors turns to cannibalism as the food supply dwindles. However, because they're so emaciated, they have no fat left. They're just muscle and sinew. Even though the survivors are eating meat, they can't process the protein without fat to supplement it.
So basically, if you're going to go cannibal, either do it early or not at all.
