It's still a self-insert with a meandering, dream-like plot, but some of the basic errors that plagued earlier volumes, like tense confusion, overtelling rather than showing, and baffling misuse of commas, seem to be in remission.
If you've never encountered this series, Call Of United Airlines serves as a fine entry point...because it's all downhill from there.
