Sooo MAYBE she got really dizzy and had to sit down. Coincidently she was holding a book. She has mutism and can't speak so in a desperation just starts to read. Unfortunately for her she also has alzheimer's disease combinable with sclerosis multiplex. So yea she forgets stuff. Now you might ask

And the answer is... No one. It's in fact her soul watching her. And the only way for us to see that is for her to be in a coma. This is her last 'good' memory before the end seen by the 'doctors' who test her body.
....Yep that sounds about right.
