I've similar issues. It's hard to explain, and it's doubtful they have similar roots.

Typical ques, such as "what did you read today, what was it about, etc", do little and less. Nothing comes to mind. Nothing of significance, at the very least. The name of the book will come to mind eventually, and vague platitude about said book, if that, but that's about it, which I guess would be fine, but the large majority of my time is spent reading. The information is their, but it'll come to mind when needed or simply lost in thought. It leaves an impression, just not one I'm entirely cognizant of 100% of the time.

Part of this undoubtedly stems from long term isolation, and skewed information processing as a result. "Skewed" may not be the right word. Surely you get what I mean. At least in principle. Maybe I've just not built the correct association. Or they've atrophied over the years.

Or maybe I'm retarded. I guess that's a possibility, and all the above are excuses to help cope with what I know deep down. So it goes.

Overall, dude seems pretty interesting though, from what I've read in the thread. Manipulative, but interesting.
