How old were you when you grew out of hedonism?

>If you always want to be right, you must be ready to change your mind a lot.

Does this not promote feeble-mindedness?

>You must always stick up for what you believe in.

What if I believe in inhumane extremities?

>Be so good they can't ignore you.

That's obnoxious. When was the last time you met someone who was 'too good' to be ignored?

>Do one thing everyday that scares you.

Why?

>Be the change you wish to see in the world.

How would that accomplish anything?

>Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you'll still be among the stars.

Overambitious people with grandiose delusions almost always have crushing regret and unbearable depression. You won't end up among the stars, you'll come crashing down back to earth.

>That which doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

No it doesn't. What doesn't kill you only makes you weaker -- both physically and mentally. (see: traumas, PTSD, physical disabilities, etc.)

How do I stop this incessant fence-sitting? I look at people around me living by their own set of rules and standards, while I'm finding at least 10 contradictory things in quotes that genuinely helped people get their lives back on track. I have never stumbled unto a helpful bit of life advice which wasn't inherently false, unproven or just straight-up hogwash. I don't want to live like this, I want to take charge of my life. But it seems that I have erected these massive impenetrable walls around me to blot out any possible outside influence.

It's a very solitary existence, and I dont want to go on like this anymore. Has anyone been in the same situation? If so, how would you resolve it? Have any particular books helped you in the process?

We're not talking about online or real life, we're talking about 4chan specifically.

Most who pose as religious are just putting on a mask because otherwise, your stance as the devils advocate in most argument holds no weight nor significance.

Maybe there's more spiritualists in /x/, but otherwise 4chan is almost certainly predominantly atheist. Who are you kidding?
