The Church has always taught that the poor are beloved by God, and that they are to be treated preferentially and taken special care of. But the Church also has always fucking hated Marxism because Marxism is explicitly atheist and has a fully materialist conception of reality.

I suppose Liberation Theology is a particularly working-class-focused strain of Catholic thought. There are a few of them who took it too far and so big daddy Ratzinger had to bring the hammer down on them back in the 80s, but the ones that remained fully orthodox are good. Saint Oscar Romero is very interesting in particular.

Find an average Catholic, befriend him, gain his confidence, and get him talking, ideally over a few drinks. You will be astounded at how fast the hardcore reactionary comes out. Catholics are a lot more insulated from pozzed status than most people think, they'll ascribe to certain elements of it but if you prod them a bit it will fall away like a snake shedding its skin. Anyone who actually goes to Mass every Sunday is no fucking joke at all, even if they attend a Novus Ordo church.

OP just read De Maistre and other Catholic thinkers. You can't be a proper reactionary without supporting the Church. The fascists were literally modernists who wanted to do away with Tradition.
