I did not highlight the IAO-OAI aspect in some sinister or concerning sense, but more in a general sense how it symbolized more than fitting formula that underlines the Transition from one cycle, or transition of Logos, from one Cycle to Another symbolized especially with the Fish aspect of Vishnu that Guénon says:

>the one which marks the very beginning of the present cycle, and that it is thus directly related to the starting point of the Primordial Tradition. It must not be forgotten, in this connection, that Vishnu represents the Divine Principle especially in its world-preserving aspect; this function comes very close to that of "Saviour" which is, more precisely, a particular instance of the wider function of Preserver; and it is truly as "Saviour" that Vishnu appears in some of his manifestations which correspond to moments of crisis in the history of the world. Now the idea of the "Saviour" is also explicitly attached to the Christian symbolism of the fish, since when the fish stands for Christ, its Greek name Ichthus is considered as being made up of the initial letters of the words Iesous Christos Theou Uios Sôter (Jesus Christ God's Son Saviour)

Now contrast this to IAO or (OAI, if you will) and Crowley's ideas about this symbolism:
>Therefore, with my heel upon the head of the Great Serpent (He goes out, and turns facing red room.) I declare this ... Chapter of Rose Croix duly closed in the name of Babalon and The Beast conjoined, of the Secret Savior and of IAO!
>(He lays down the Crucifix and tramples upon it.)

Even Guénon recounts the Templars having been accused of trampling upon the Crucifix, I cannot find the quote, but Evola does mention it briefly in The Mystery of the Grail:
>First of all, it has consistently been shown, not only through confessions extorted with torture but also through spontaneous declarations, that the Templars had a secret ritual of an authentically initiatory character. As a condition to be admitted to this rite, or as an introductory phase to it, one had to abjure the worship of Christ. The knighthad to step over the crucifIx and insult it.

Obviously Crowley also alludes to this writing of the Sabbath of the Adepts:

>In the black hours of earth, when the Christian superstition with fell blight withered most malignantly the peoples of Europe, when our own Holy Order was dispersed and the sanctity of its preceptories lay violate, there were yet found certain to hold Truth in their hearts, and, loving Light, to bear the Lamp of Virtue beneath the Cloak of Secrecy. And with strange suppers and spells diverse, did call forth Him, whom the enemy called ignorantly Satan, and was in truth the Great God Pan, or Bacchus, or even that Baphomet whom the Templars worshipped secretly

Contrast also the IAO with the rapture-cry of the Greeks IO PAN!
>IO is the rapture-cry of the Greeks, also symbolic of Phallos Kteis and Lingam Yoni
