What did think about The Conspiracy Against the Human Race? I like his short stories so I decided to give this a go. It's my first time reading any philosophy (if you can call it philosophy) and it messed me up. I can't see the world in any other way now. There were times I was truly scared but by the time I finished it, I found the idea of it all being meaningless a consolation.
On one hand, I want to find counter arguments and maybe see the world in a more positive light, which I'm not sure is possible after he took a huge black dump into my mind.
On the other hand, I want to lean into pessimism as I find it oddly comforting that nothing that I do has meaning and stop worrying about stupid shit.
