toomuchhorrorfiction is a good blog on that front.

he turned me on to a book i really enjoyed - the search for joseph tully - recently re-released on kindle.

he has a lot of good recs, and his reviews are interesting.

on a different front, if you're willing to get down in the dirt with the plebs, there are a lot of zombie novels to choose from. i particularly like flesh eaters by joe mckinney.

mostly enjoyed something jason jones, trailer park zombies, (except for the ending).

also z.a. recht, plague of the dead is solid, and has a great apocalyptic battle in the first 50 odd pages (set in africa, if memory serves).

Left with the Dead by Stephen Knight.

The Dead by Charlie Higson, very enjoyable YA novel.

Keith C. Blackmore, Mountain Man. Funny, very good read. I believe this was a breakout hit for Mr. Blackmore in the world of kindle, deservedly so.

Maberry, Dead of Night

Jacobs, This Dark Earth

T.A. Donnelly, Wild Strawberry

V.M. Zito, The Return Man

And that reminds me, there is actually one zombie book that is /lit/ worthy: Kim Paffenroth, Valley of the Dead. It is an *excellent* horror novel.

Peter Clines, 14 (cool, fun book; very vividly imagined cthulu worlds)

Jeff Strand, Wolf Hunt (ditto on the cool, fun part)

The Fisherman is a good read. Recommended.

>How is last days?

It's a solid horror novel that in its best parts wraps you in impossibly distant, then encroaching, then altogether too intimate tentacles of dread. Like most horror novels, the climactic sequence is a bit of let-down, and not the best part of the book.
