Found it stuffed behind the headboard of my bed when I was in rehab. Pretty boring stuff, but interesting in the fact that there were still a lot of vestiges and holdouts of "old America" even in the 1970s. People with dirt floors, no electricity, making their own clothes, that sort of thing. Those places became meth towns, abandoned or turned into interstate now.

I found this stuffed under my mattress when I was in rehab a few years ago. It's about a guy who walks across the US in the 70s. I thought it was interesting because he encounters a lot of traces of 'old america' that don't really exist anymore. You can really feel the freedom.

I feel like walking across America in the current year would be a dumb waste of time, but back then there was still a lot of culture and soul to be found.

I found this jammed behind a bookshelf when I was in rehab. It was very relaxing. It's kind of sad. It was published in the late 70s but so much 'old America' was still present during his travels. Now, that's all gone. Walking across America in 2020 would be fucking stupid.
