Depends on the person. The mindless NPC life hopelessly imitates art, while art tends to imitate the philosophic life (in the Platonic sense).

I was depressed 2 months after reading it
Nothing came close to unraveling certain aspects of critical events for me; the way it deconstructs the Revolution even before happening (50 years earlier is mind-boggling.

The only other book which did this to me was Eco's Pendulum of Foucault

dunno, I'm 30, earn a ton of cash, great job, had a fair share of girls. But now I get this extreme sense of existential dread I never experienced. Feels like my best years are behind me and no amount of cash or excercise can fix that. I spent my life doing nothing but learning stuff, playing vidya and reading books. I wish I could take a girl to fanciest restaurants in town but have noone to go out with. Sex is not that hard to come by, but I want to feel some connection to the other person and by now it feels impossible, like I lost all the chances while pursuing career or just sitting in front of PC.

Why are my dreams so bad and pointless? Rarely I will have something that I could perceive as meaningful and I will actually recall the dream as I wake up. Not so long ago I dreamed of a baby dying the
moment I took him in my arms.

I don't dream of symbols, or shapes. It's either something as I described. Or something that make no sense.

Can one influence his dreams or will the unconscious say what it has to say no matter what? I usually sleep quite well at night.

Do you dream? I don't and when I do it's nothing interesting or that can be dwelled upon.
Any books that talk about that? Does your relation to dreams mean something?

What is the deepest thought that you have had, that you can explain?

Bonus points if its from a certain book.

I'm neither of those people but:

>nice pet theory
>Thank you

>I’ll bet you think you’re special
>I'm not

Also I'm yet to find anything to convince me even slightly of god's existence but I like to keep an open mind. Anyone know anything that might convince me? I don't see a book alone changing my mind but you never know.
