WW2 was a continuation of the same war and inevitable, the international economic order would inevitably make "Britain" and eventually "America" (zombies controlled by financial elites) globally dominant. The only option was to rebel against that order by trying to create a counter order.

WW2 was mostly about this. Everyone knew it then, nobody knows it now, not even people who specialize in it. Everything else is window dressing, on the same level as "we went to Iraq to spread democracy."
