do you even know what a reactionary is? it isn't the basic-bitch whig liberal conservatism of burke; it's the sword-and-sceptre "the blood that runs through the streets of paris is divine punishment for sinning against His ministers" de maistrean conservatism. i don't care if you like burke, but please learn correct terminology. everything you listed is traditional conservatism, not reactionary.

>He didn't read Critias
Who do you think destroyed the far superior ATLANTIS? That's right, it was Plato's republic in the form of ancient-ancient Athens that wiped out the largest military power on earth with the power of JUSTICE.

>you get out of /lit/ what you put in. Effortposting gets rewarded. If you know your shit, you'll attract other people who know their shit.
HAHAHAHAHAHA. The vast majority of people here probably haven't read more than 20 books in their life, much less have anything interesting to say about them. Effortposting doesn't magically beget effortposting, simply because effort alone doesn't make a good post, requisite knowledge and intelligence are also required—characteristics which nu-/lit/ lacks. The best you'll get from effort posting is a deluge of "based" posts from the drooling mongrels populating this board and a few "good post" replies, but never anything substantive.

I mainly read non-fiction but even I'VE read those. Havin' a laugh at all the "people" in this thread who haven't, there's no excuse.
