I read the first couple of pages of this because it was getting spammed on /lit/ and it sounded unique.
I cannot fathom reading this entire book. Faulkner, Woolf and Joyce at their most ambiguous are more bearable. I'm already hearing "the fact that" repeated in my head over and over.

>be me
>read picrel
>thoughts now begin with the phrase 'the fact that'
It's so annoying. What can I read to counteract this?

Is this novel encyclopædic along the lines of Ulysses and the Divine Comedy?

Haven't visited this place for some months, now this book is a meme.
Give me a quick rundown of this woman and her work. Is it a good meme like Ulysses or is it a meme like harry potter?

This is unironically the Ulysses of our generation. It may not be as good as Ulysses, but it's a signficant formal achievement nonetheless. And the fact that the author is not even American makes it all the more astonishing.

I never thought a novel that’s over 1000 pages, based on the inner monologues of a house wife, written in a single sentence could be so based.
