the really funny thing is that one major political party has convinced half of the electorate that they actually care about the issue when, in fact, they have never done anything significant to stem this nefarious brown tide. They have had multiple opportunities since Reagan, but they always choose to punt so they can continue to use the issue to rally the ignorant and forgetful masses.
