Take 1984 as an example. If it had been written completely in newspeak without explanation, nobody would have read it because nobody would have been able to understand it.
That's the whole shit about words. You can mess with them, but if you do it the retard way like hermetic writers do, there is no point in their writing at all.
The Concept of understanding is based on the simple matter of knowing the same words have the same meaning for YOU and me.
If I say red, you know what color I mean by saying that word, even we are just writing and reading.

Therefore even if the writer got a meaning in his writing, if he does not use the right "protocol" to transmit them, it's pointless to begin with.
