100 pages in and I am enjoying it. Am I going to be rewarded or disappointed if I keep reading?

This series worth investing myself in? The first novel seems awful.

I started reading this and it fucking sucks. I am flabbergasted how people recommend and enjoy this utter shit. It is so slow paced and ineffective, absolute shit tier. Really, can someone explain how they like a book that plods along with so little originality and spice? I mean, do you people like to just read toilet construction manuals all day long? The taste of the populace has grown hopelessly poor. Pic related, as well

I've been somewhat lost while reading this book, should I read the series or does it get worse?

Can someone please make a short non-spoiler review? I finished ASOIAF and I want to start some new multivolume fantasy series. Some Anon suggested this to me on a different board so I wondered what /lit/ has to say about it,

Rereading Gardens of the Moon after a couple of years and man, it is slow going. I remember enjoying it more than I am currently.

I've heard good stuff about Deadhouse Gates though, so I'm slogging through it.

Dearest /lit/

I've been reading Gardens of the Moon on and off again for the past few months, but I'm really, really struggling to get into. I find the premise of the book super interesting but I just can't bring myself to read more than around 20 - 50 pages at a time. I just keep putting it down.

Is this normal? Does the series get better? Does the book pick up at some point? I'm currently at page 200.

I know it's not exactly 'light' reading, but I've read other somewhat heavy fantasy like The Silmarillion and I blazed through that. I just can't help but feel the book was actually written as a screenplay or something for a movie. I can imagine the shots to different characters cutting back and forth, but I'm really just struggling to become attached to the characters, Erikson cuts between them far, far too quickly.

I guess what I'm asking is does it get better?

Hi /lit/. Is pic related any good? I like fantasy and I enjoyed ASOIAF.
