This is this point of the anonymous post on a board that will garner no recognition. I am literally the archetype this board thinks of itself as. I will live a middling normal life and die a middling normal life, never writing something that validates or redeems what I or you feel at 17-23. For every genius that accomplishes the dream there are literally hundreds of people wondering why not to blow our brains out out of frustration.

In my opinion not very. I absolutely loved the book and there's probably references that I missed.

It gets harder maybe halfway in. If you feel like you missed anything important after finishing a chapter I'd recommend the annotated recognitions site.

Anyone looking at this thread wondering if they should read it the answer is yes. No reason to put it off. It's an absolute joy from start to finish and does not feel as long as it is.

Supposing Marx was a mediocre political economist, what more obscure philosopher would be entertaining to have been the basis of global political revolutuon?

I get where he's coming from, if you feel like you can't connect with a book on a personal level its unlikely to hit you as hard as a book that does.
