Undergrad STEMfags don't understand history of science or philosophy - have only read Popper's wiki page and don't really understands any critiques sent against them. They are the people who are likely to enjoy the work of Hitchens, Dawkins, Harris and Dennet. They're the type of people who support positive psychology...
The more informed philosophy guys (though I hate to make the disinction) get what they're talking about and try and move away from the divide, whilst the newer ones who've only read a few continental wiki pages and seen American Beauty stay on this idea of the divide between the two ways of thinking.

Go read Popper, analytic and continental philosophy, understand the history and philosophy of science, logic and religion.
