What do you think of Flashman, based or not? Which is your favorite book in the Flashman series? Any other books like them, that are equally well-researched with respect to historical accuracy?

I've only read the first one and just started the ninth one, 'Flashman and the mountain of light', enjoying it a lot thus far.

I don't get it. Flashman claims he was at practically every famous and important event of the 19th century, but i've read books on these subjects and I can't find any mention of him. There's not even a Wikipedia article on him. How is it possible there's not more historical mentions of this man?
