Not in the sense of that the arguments were radically new, but the historical context and how his points still have a lot of validity in modern society. It provides a clean thinking framework to deal with moral questions. And as far as I know from earlier philosophers, only Spinoza provides an analogous outlook.

Reading this book was entertaining, and gave me back a lot of my sanity last year.

>Neetshee
Spooked. I do not need to create a moral system, especially if I am to be obligated to it. I do not need an ideal self in the Übermensch, for I am already perfect. I do not need to even care about others, I care only because I do.
All Things are Nothing to me and I base my affairs on Nothing

>be a NEET
>society constantly shames you
>depressed
>open a laptop
>start thinking on how the laptop was made
>it took countless hours of work from scientists and technicians to figure out the technology
>to build it took an gigantic scale manufacturing industry with thousands of workers
>all this only possible due to greed and vanity of people who just want to be better than their neighbors and attract females
>all their effort and sweat to this product is delivered to you by a convenient price
>if you are not rich you just need to wait for a few years until the technology is accessible, so the real currency is time not money
>realize that every other single product your own, even food, comes from the exact same chain of hard work from wagies
>realize you live of their work
>realize they are your unknowing slaves
>go out for the street for a walk in the rush hour with your dog
>internally laugh at all these slaves stuck in their cars just retorning home to sustain your life
>immediately feel self-steem boost
>the slaves think you are the loser so it becomes more comical
>tfw the Universe is fair and rewards the NEET (egoist) master race

Is that what Stirner meant with the egoist vs serving-the-egoist dichotomy?

I'm an amateur so take this with a grain of salt, but writing books aren't going to help you that much with writing. If you faithfully follow their guidelines, you're just going to write robotic and boring prose. However, if you're a complete amateur then they can be quite helpful for identifying and eradicating bad habits. What's most important, though, is to read and write a lot. The more you read, the more you'll see what constitutes good writing, and the more you write, the more you'll develop your writing skills.

With that said, I've read Pinker's "Sense of Style" and Garner's "Legal Writing in Plain English" for school and work, respectively. I thought they had good guidelines and I'd recommend them.
