gnomic aspect

a grammatical aspect that expresses general truths or aphorisms. it's the difference between 'curiosity killed the ca't (gnomic) and 'curiosity killed my cat' (non-gnomic/episodic). I like it because I picture an uppity little gnome trying to pass off everything he says as a universal fact
