Who is, in your opinion, the greatest personification of Nietzsche's 'Übermensch' ideal? Name some examples from your fields of interest.

I haven't read Carlyle but Weininger cites him quite a bit in SEX AND CHARACTER, mostly positively, save for the following:

>Even such a deep person as Carlyle has highly esteemed them ["men of action"], yes, in the end, set "the hero as king" too high among heroes.

>Of course the final outcome of the morality the weak used to destroy the strong only leads to nihilism and antinatalism.

The triumph of the weak or average man is actually a racial progress. Humanity will become a mass mind capable of works far greater than any free individual could hope to achieve. The mass mind will move humanity off of this earth, perhaps into another dimension.

This does not mean there is no reason to lament the end of the age of the free individual, the bold but archaic leaders. For in their own time they felt the privilege and freedom of Gods, which no future form of humankind will ever know again.

sup /lit/

there was a thread a couple weeks back about biographies. I was interested in the Napoleon Bonaparte bio, but which book should I get? The one that Andrew Roberts wrote? I heard that was a great book, but wanted you guys to weigh in on it.
What's a good George Washington biography?
What is your favorite biography, /lit/?
Thanks in advance.

Recently I have become interested in the Napoleonic war. What are the best books dealing with the topic, fiction and non-fiction. Are there any non-fiction that deals with the subject in real time like Carlyle's account of the french revolution?
