I had a brain injury and went blind for a day. The next day I had my occipital lobe 'rebooting' and I could not parse any string of letters or numbers. My attempt to parse moved the number or letter out of its ledger and even off the page. The computer screen or page or sign bled into this smokey dreamy smudge to have all these letters and numbers swirling in 3D space like a hallucination. But it was not a hallucination. It was my impaired perception and my impaired training. It was high fidelity functionality for a brain recoupling the faculty of following horizontal and vertical space with encoding and in this anatomical reconstructions the faculties themselves were shown as the severed discrete forms of habit they are. Despite being given this cinematic display of cloudy pages and dancing alphanumericals I was asked about what this information is and I answered perfectly. This happened on finals week in 2019 after the accident on Thanksgiving. I got straight A's on all my exams! It was like being two people. I the visual attendant was the dumb dyslexic seeing clouds on the squares of writing while my blind audience inside me was my intelligent interpreter. There are four eyes in my brain not two. Your eyes have an interpreter and a feedback loop balancer. Mine were severed and stitched back together by a swollen healing.
