>Kabbalah, Gnosticism, Hermeticism, NeoPlatonism
I'd say those are the major focus of the books. My interests as well. Ya. Crowley, unfortunately, did a lot of damage to the reputation of these systems of attainment. I guess you might say they are no longer viable paths as their initiatic chain has seemingly been lost but I find that studying such western systems and their particular form of reasoning helps aid the understanding of all religion as well as providing a look at the underbelly of ancient, modern, and contemporary western philosophy.

(Current) Philosophy Thread. Discuss books and papers, engage in dialectic, create copypasta and dank memes, shitpost, effortpost, posture intellectually, gesticulate wildly to your fbi handler over your webcam, speculate about modal realism of waifus, etc.

Finishing my final semester in philosophy undergraduate. Feeling good. Was wondering how many fellow peeps we had here.

My pedagogy (in philosophy) has been as follows:
>first year: introductory classes; ancient greeks and early modern europeans, medieval christians, ancient indians and east asians
>second year: hellenistic philosophers, german idealism, existentialism and phenomenology, logical positivism and analytic philosophy
>third year: logic, ethics, aesthetics, politics, epistemology, metaphysics (all analyticly sequestered)
>fourth year: postmodern and contemporary continental thought, philosophy of language, philosophy of religion, philosophy of psychology and cognitive science

Plus language and science and all that other basic requirements...

If you as an amateur are curious what is studied or wish to follow along then I believe that that is a solid course of study. Primary texts are the best. But do not be afraid of secondary sources either. Liberal use of IEP and SEP is recommended too (wikipedia is not quite as good for philosophy).

Despite feeling good to (soon) have a degree I feel kinda confused as to what sort of career path I should pursue now. Any recommendations on good graduate schools? And good books in philosophy coming out lately? Should I try emailing philosophers whose books I enjoy and asking them about their programs? I feel somewhat lost as to where I should continue this incredible intellectual journey.

*I identify as a sorcerer without organs btw
