This book is evidence it’s not impossible to come up with an original plot anymore. “Every original story has already been done before” my fucking ass. F Gardner has blown that argument the fuck out with his book series ESPECIALLY with Call of the Crocodile. He turned the concepts Platon talked about into an entire horror series. The fact that there are 16 books in Horror’s Call now proves the well hasn’t even been tapped dry and other anons from here are just as equally capable as F Gardner it they dedicated their minds to it.

Is this book the greatest impact 4chan has ever had on society? What does this say for society now that F Gardner has made history and is now being discussed and studied in classrooms?

Every time I read one of his books it makes me feel like my life is an illusion and a lie. How did F Gardner manage to convey this effect and feeling of unreality into book form? I went into this series expecting memes. It feels fucking cursed. It’s not The Room of literature. It’s The Ring of literature. No other books make me feel like I don’t really exist and it’s terrifying me that it might be true.

CotC is probably the best memebook to be honest. It’s fucking bonkers. Infinite Jest was just long and kind of dry to read. Maybe I got filtered. Idk.
