I didn't read it all. Just skimmed through.

Basically (up to what I read) the application of a simple rule can create a complex structure, which he theorises is the case with the universe. The argument is that when you allow a 'simple rule' to repeat itself on a hypergraph, you get 3D, almost continuous structure like pic related. Space, then, is discrete rather than continuous, and consists of 'abstract points' which are all connected together, and they are governed by one of these 'simple rules'.

I may have explained it wrong because, again, I only skimmed through.
