Maybe on prole-kibble media you should be ignoring anyway if you have a shred of taste.

Nobody cares what you think, townie scum. This neighborhood isn't poor and depressing because of the students.

Nobody should care about humanities at public and other non-elite universities. Studying that stuff full-time for four years only makes sense for those smart or privileged enough to make it at an elite university and everyone else is wasting time.

Pro-tip: the most popular major at Harvard is a dual-major with literature and history, and those kids do not have trouble finding employment because they're well-connected and have 150+ IQs. If you're working with an average brain and not connections you deserve everything that comes to you when you spend 4 years studying the hobbies of your social betters like a dog watching his master play tennis.

I scored 155 with an SDEV of 15.
I read a novel a week plus the Paris Review, N+1 and the Michigan Quarterly. The last few novels I read were The Electric Kool Aid Acid Test, The Pale King and East of Eden.

It feels good to consistently understand things I read more comprehensively than my peers, and sometimes recognizing patterns in an authors style detracts from my enjoyment of prose. When I write I put a great deal of effort into not repeating any elements too often.

This guy's right dude, plenty of doctors, professors and executives score lower than 128, and that would be on the high end for most other professions. You're not mentally handicapped for any field.

Hey guys look, it's another flyover-state welder who thinks his indiscriminate reading on the internet is equivalent to studying with professors who dedicat their lives to their subjects!

>all my needs are met with minimal labor
>I can travel the world freely
>I can own and manufacture anything I please short of a nuclear arsenal
>I am a prisoner/slave
Somebody having more than me when I already enjoy things king Solomon couldn't dream of doesn't really rankle badly enough to be worth getting upset about, tbh. The joy in my life comes from family, outdoor recreation and creative pursuits. I know how revolutions occur but if I'm not being oppressed the only reason to start one would be for funsies and that's not my thing. If you live in a global city I understand your frustration, but I don't share it.

>mfw I fit every single one of these including personal experience with what I'm writing my novel about
I've done the same research, actually. It's interesting how late so many good authors started writing seriously when in practically everything else you have to train from child. Maybe the other anon is right that reading is the long prerequisite to good writing.
