Unfortunately, you're correct. Even the Church doesn't require it. They list these things as "worthy of belief," but don't require belief in them in order to be a good Catholic.

I think this is a mistake. The Church should force the modern world to confront direct evidence of God's actions on Earth. The healings, the apparitions, the miracles should be required beliefs for Catholics. This is a religion, not a social club. You signed up for the terrible power of God when you received your First Communion.

I am convinced that the vast majority of people have had at least one occurrence in their life that can only be explained by recourse to the supernatural, the miraculous, and the divine. I think a lot of modern people lie to themselves when these occurrences take place, and assume that there is a materialist explanation for them. There isn't. Materialism is as stupid as being a flat earther.

I'm sorry, which Church has more apparitions? Catholicism is just as "spooky" as Orthodoxy, it just also has the benefit of a strong philosophical tradition. It has faith AND reason.

Mary's special status is revealed when Gabriel calls her "full of grace" before she becomes pregnant with Jesus. This indicates that she was free from sin, even from Original Sin. This is where the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception comes from.

OP you a) lack faith and b) need to look harder in your quest for evidence. Also, stay away from hardcore skeptics, they wouldn't believe even if a miracle happened in front of them.

I wonder why Mary hasn't deigned to visit the United States, and it makes me wonder, subsequently, if we're not just kind of a damned nation. We were built by Protestants, atheists, and deists, and we explicitly reject the Truth of the Church. Maybe the United States just doesn't enjoy God's favor, and is doomed to destruction as a result.
