I’m beginning to develop a political ideology for myself. I call it “Star Trek socialism”. The main ideas are:
- humanism (as opposed to racialism)
- meritocracy
- getting rid of money and private businesses because its a petty human pursuit
- focus on scientific research, exploration, space travel

The main idea is that socialism is usually too negative and obsessed with oppression and exploitation. But even if you get rid of those things—what then? You need a positive goal as well, positive aspirations. Star Trek socialism is basically oriented toward great deeds in knowledge, the arts, and human colonization of our stellar environment. Are there any books that cover similar ideas?
