How much literature do you guys have, grouping by nationality of the author? Like say:

British:
American:
Canadian:
French:
Russian:
Italian:
Chinese:
Japanese:

etc, like that. I'm assuming most people will have a majority of British/American authors, but I'm curious as to how much you guys have of other countries' literature.

Let's have a shelf thread, /lit/!

Anyone else read " Chan in all four corners" by Christopher Poole? I just finished it and I have to say, it's a damn fine piece of writing. Given its complexity and length, it deserves being called the "Ulysses" of our time. I think Joyce would agree.

Okay /lit/, I'd like to buy 2 quick (cheap, used) books for people.

So, wishlist thread! I more than likely will only buy for Americans though (due to shipping and stuff), so, keep that in mind.

So /lit/, just wondering, do any of you feel that you are particularly well-read in any one field/genre/subject? Do you have a specific niche? How often do you branch out into other works?

I saw this thread a little while back but I can't seem to find it again. Pick an author you feel you are particularly well read in, and post your favorite:

Novel:
Novella:
Short Story:
Poem (if applicable):

of theirs. It's interesting to see different people's take on the same body of work.

So, /lit/, I'm thinking of getting into plays. My college doesn't really offer any play-specific classes, but I've read a few regardless. Some Chekov, some Ibsen, and Wilde.

Where do I go from here, /lit/? I'll probably finish up those three's body of work, but who else should I look into?

So /lit/, do you tend to gravitate towards authors and works of certain nationalities? Looking at my shelf the other day, I noticed I have a really high concentration of Russian literature. What about you guys?
