I'm working on a floridawave novella which I am going to force myself to self-publish at the end of the month, whether or not I feel like it could be improved.

>A rogue scientist has gone missing in the Florida panhandle. A paramilitary contractor has been hired to push into the towering tangle of thorn and kudzu which looms over the landscape. But what starts off as a simple job rapidly becomes a life-or-death struggle when he encounters hostile locals, vicious wildlife, and mind-bending natural phenomenon. As he draws nearer to his target, it soon becomes apparent that something much more powerful than anything found in nature is waiting at the end of his journey. Will he survive the insanity that lurks just a few miles off the highway? Or will Florida rise up to consume us all?

Does that sound like something you'd want to read? Could I find a way better way to phrase the "something/anything" sentence?
