Many of them have video game elements so it's an easy transition from playing a game with RPG stats to reading a book with RPG stats. Then you can get away from the stats into more normal fantasy, and from there into more normal fiction. A decent start would be something like Shield Hero or Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon. Some of my personal favorites are Spice & Wolf, Accel World, Ascendance of a Bookworm, Grimgar, Log Horizon, and Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average In the Next Life.
