Nobody talks about this book, I really liked this book. I recommend it to anyone who wants to read military fiction or accurate representations of life for non-rich non-coastal young people in america, with extremely fun prose. this guy's gonna go places I think. I would love to chat about this book with you guys, but nobody's read it.

Some days you couldn't remember the last time it had rained. It was one of those days, but it came to be a good day because there was a sandstorm. The sandstorms were wonderful; medevacs couldn't fly in them, so all patrols got canceled. This one was a good one. The wind blew and blew and you couldn't see shit.

This guy's novel basically details his archetypal male failure at life, which is weirdly relatable despite my not being a heroin addict, PTSD war vet, or bank robber.
Overall fun prose and one of many stories that nobody is fucking telling these days but will be seen as very important for explaining our era.
