Epictetus - born as a slave and ended up as the most important stoics and teachers of the Ancients. Really, the only non-bullshit self-help book there is.

> Hard mode: No bible, quran, baggerwhat giter or any other religious drivel
Also, reading religious texts and not using gamer language actually helps.

Good luck.

Discourses without a doubt. Though you should've prob started there. Get the Oxford (Robin Hard) edition it contains Discourses, Fragments, and Handbook (Enchiridion)

This, I'd also add Epictetus too as something good to read. Oxford has a nice edition of all his writings. The Handbook is a great reference, but you should really dive into his discourses to understand what he's on about. He's much better than Marcus Aurelius imo.
