Considering this is /lit/, you might find some literature helpful on your journey. But it's not a fix, it's a tool. Personally, and apt to this thread, I've found Jung quite helpful, but opinions differ.

I’ve been reading books that movies I liked were based off of in an attempt to start reading more, and I was hoping I could get some recommendations. So far, I’ve read No Country For Old Men, The Revenant, and True Grit. There are no books that the The Hateful Eight was based off of, but I’ve heard that The Sisters Brothers would be up my ally.

I’m looking for more books with crazy, complex, or memorable characters, sometimes dark and disturbing, maybe more ‘southern gothic’ themes. Faulkner and McCarthy are currently on my list, anything my fellow anons could recommend?
