I'm kinda like you too. I do have friends IRL, albeit the close ones being few, and I can be very social there. However the online sphere requires a modicum of dedication towards a group that would leave you behind if you're not present often. Discord, and even old school forums often required you to be active in the community to even be noticed. And while that's entirely a bad thing for your community, it can get exhausting. And I can't be bothered.

I've been using a kobo for years, but still prefer a physical copy. i borrow a book from the library if i am unsure if it's a good read or not. sometimes i pick up a few cheap ones that are secondhand and in other cases i buy new ones if i'd like to have a fresh copy of it on my shelf.

it's also easier to talk about books with people if they check out what you got on your shelf or to borrow books to others.

Is it bad that I have absolutely no desire to read anything published after about 1990?
